Alice in Murcialand

For this Fun Week, the group of 4º ESO have done an adaptation of quintessential British tale, “Alice in Wonderland”.

At first, we divided the class into five different groups, thus divided up the tale among the groups. Thus, the distribution was: the first one was in charge of the opening of the history, introducing the characters and the place where the history develops. The second group got to tell the part in which Alice finds the caterpillar, the third one wrote about the characteristic tea party. To finish the tale, the fourth group wrote the part of the queen of hearts and the last group closed the story by creating a more appropriate ending to the purpose.

In addition to all this, we added different native plants from Murcia Region which had been looked into during Biology periods, and we changed the place where Alicia’s adventures take place, turning Wonderland into “Murcialand.”

Finally, after all this process of creation and research, we transcribed the story. However we did it by creating a WhatsApp conversation between Alice and her best friend, Daisy, since it was a good way to meet not only the requirements of the Fun Week under pandemic conditions, but also the learning standards of the curriculum.

To do this, we used a website which let us give form to the conversation, as well as design different Instagram posts.
